Often Imitated, Never Duplicated "Never Drive Faster Then Your Guardian Angel Can Fly" Home This time of year, now that Snowmobile season is here, I will be spending more time on the Trail Conditions section. I will update this Home section on a every other day basis with advertisement and things that help out the area, recent news and things about our State and Government. So keep checking back, sometimes I add things three, to four times a day. Continuous On-Going Update Inmates Take Hostages, Start Riot in Texas Prison PECOS, Texas — Inmates
at a privately run prison in West Texas took two hostages after
starting a riot and setting at least one fire Friday, authorities said. One
of the hostages was released late Friday. Both prison employees are recreation
specialists at the Reeves County Detention Center. The inmates include
immigration detainees. They were asking for better medical treatment,
Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper John Barton told the Pecos Enterprise
Friday night. I have an idea? Maybe, send these immigration detainees back to there countries so they don't riot and hurt our American workers! Just an idea! Of course, maybe if we give them more free health care everything will be better! They will then parole out in good health and commit more crimes against you and your children! WAKE UP PEOPLE! Another local eatery closes MARQUETTE - Another Marquette restaurant facing tough economic times has closed its doors. The Waterfront Restaurant, which opened in January, closed Dec. 6. Owner Mark Norris blamed the current economy. "Absolutely, the economy," he said. "After Labor Day we took a big hit. It's like you pulled a plug and people weren't going out to dine. It's not just us, it's probably nationwide." The Italian fast food restaurant Fazoli's on US-41 and The Coney Joint on Washington Street closed in November. Norris said the restaurant will be put up for sale. He had no plans to try to start another restaurant. "Restaurants are risky to begin with," he said. "Plus right now the economy is just not supportive. People don't have the disposable income to go out to eat as much." He thanked all the patrons who........For the rest of the story, click here. Sounds like King Kong is playing with his ding dong or has made some new friends. lmao!!
Now I have been waiting for today because two prisons are going to be told to close! We are crossing our fingers that it is not one of ours up here, because it would further hurt the U.P. So the bottom line is, I have allot of work related stuff that I am dealing with right now. I don't know what today is going to bring. If it is a nearby prison that is getting the axe, I am going to be a very busy man. So stay tuned and I will update when the chance arrives. Granholm budget proposal trims 2 prisons, welfare payments LANSING -- Gov. Jennifer Granholm will propose $140 million in state budget cuts today, including the closure of a state prison and a prison camp, along with reductions in welfare payments, according to a copy of the plan obtained Tuesday by the Free Press. Granholm's executive order will spare public schools, universities and revenue sharing to local communities from any cuts. Closing the prisons, which were not named in the plan, would save $21 million. The closings are made possible, at least in part, by an unexpected decline in the number of inmates in the state to fewer than 49,000, the lowest level since 2000.The welfare cuts, based on fewer cases due to stricter rules to qualify for state welfare, would save about $60 million through Oct. 1, 2009. Also, the state would cut by $5.3 million reimbursements to hospitals, physicians and nursing homes. Granholm's state budget director is to present the plan today to the House and Senate appropriations committees......For the rest of the story, click here. Unexpected decline my ass! They are dumping child molesters and rapist back into your neighborhoods! Put me in charge! I will reduce prison population greatly! First, send all illegal immigrants back to there countries, Second, place the death penalty back in place for Michigan. If you are convicted of Child Molestation, Rape, or Murder that has DNA proof that you are guilty, you are electrocuted until you are dead! Watch the above video!!!!! I agree 100% percent! Calling In 'Gay' to Work Is Latest Form of Protest San Fran "Sicko"
— Some same-sex marriage supporters are urging people to "call in gay" Wednesday
to show how much the country relies on gays and lesbians, but others question
whether it's wise to encourage skipping work given the nation's economic
distress. I won't say anything! You know how I feel. I will say this, "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!" Stop pushing your sick lifestyle down my airwaves. If you want to be gay, be gay. Go hump a goat if you want! Just don't make me say it's okay. We voted on it! We don't want gay marriage, end of story! A couple of you girly men can call in sick at my place Wednesday, because you really can't handle the manly job anyway! Mich. economy stuck in
8-year recession Blows my mind that with the above article, our Governor was appointed to be on President B.O's economic advisory committee. I hope she went in there and said, "Don't do what I did to Michigan!"
Gulf Oil CEO says gas could hit $1 next year RANDOLPH — Gulf Oil CEO
Joe Petrowski said on Wednesday that the price of oil could sink to $20 per
barrel, and there is a chance gasoline prices could drop as low as $1 per gallon
by early next year.
Lonely wilderness: National forests visits down 13 percent MARQUETTE - According
to the U.S. Forest Service, visits to national forests over the last several
years are down an alarming 13 percent, but nobody seems to agree on the cause. All original material
